Function, contract dates with duration shown in days and weeks, joining and disembarkation port from a searchable port list, wage band, who arranges travel, and a response deadline. Incomplete requests cannot be posted, so first time right is the default.

What happens after you post a vacancy
Crewing goes wrong at the moments when nobody knows whose move it is. So every step is fixed. The key principle: the agency checks with the seafarer first, and only with a yes does the proposal reach the operator. So an operator never gets a pile of offers to sort out.

The status model
Four statuses that make "is he actually available?" a solved problem
The most expensive failure in crewing is a candidate who looks confirmed but is not. Crew2Sea splits confirmation into two explicit steps, each with a time limit, before anything irreversible happens.
The agency proposes a candidate with the minimum data set: function, score, availability claim and certificate summary. Low effort by design, so speed stays high.
The agency confirms availability and checks the documents, within a set window. Miss the window and the proposal drops out of the running automatically.
The seafarer personally confirms the contract window. Only from this point does the operator start visas, flights and CV packages. Green means green.
Contract signed, or cancelled with a reason code. Every closure feeds the statistics: time to shortlist, commit-to-placement rate, escalations outside the platform.
Matching with judgment
A system should never say no too early
Legacy crewing software excludes a candidate the moment one certificate expires, even when the renewal is a formality that is already booked. Crew2Sea keeps that candidate in view with a lower score and a clear explanation, because the nuance is exactly where the value sits.

Shown with the renewal status, not hidden. A medical exam booked next week is a footnote, not a rejection.

Available for 4 of 6 weeks? The platform asks the question instead of deciding for you: willing to extend?
Paper match, practice mismatch
An unlimited licence does not make an anchor handler. Task experience weighs in the score, so a 100 percent paper match can honestly show 74.
