Live demand
The work is real. The pool stays private.
Crew2Sea lives behind a login: separated portals for operators and agencies, and seafarers are never publicly visible. What you see here is the anonymised demand that is open on the platform right now, rank, vessel type and region, nothing more.
-
Operators post behind their login. Vacancies reach connected agencies first, then the certified network.
-
Agencies join after onboarding. Certified agencies only, with a signed processing agreement before activation.
-
Seafarers stay invisible. Your pool is the value of your business. It is never browsable, by anyone.

Why Crew2Sea
Crewing still runs on calls, mail threads and spreadsheets
An operator calls three agencies. Three agencies search three separate pools. Bulk CVs come back, half the candidates turn out to be unavailable, and certificate status surfaces when it is almost too late. Crew2Sea replaces that with one flow:
Post your crew demand
Select a vessel from your fleet and the platform pre-fills flag, tonnage and safe manning. Incomplete requests cannot be posted, so agencies never chase missing data.
Agencies respond with matched crew
Your connected agencies see the vacancy first, the wider network follows when time runs short. Every candidate arrives with a transparent match score.
Track every placement to the gangway
One shared status flow replaces loose mails and calls. Availability is confirmed twice, by the agency and by the seafarer, before you spend a euro on travel.
One shared language for every placement
See the full flowAgency proposes a candidate with the minimum data set.
Agency confirms availability and documents, within a time limit.
The seafarer confirms too. Only now do visas and travel start.
Contract signed. Closed with a reason code, so the data keeps learning.
Transparent matching
The match score is visible before anyone commits
Certificates, task experience, availability, location and rate, weighed into one honest number. When someone scores low on a factor, the platform says why.
- Never a hard exclude on a fixable gap
- Location match cuts flights and mobilization costs
- Every score explains itself, factor by factor

From the field research
This is what the sector told us
The shortage has been growing for a decade. On top of that we held eight interviews with four operators and four crewing agencies, to hear how that feels on a crewing desk.
39,100 officers short today, and 113,735 more needed by 2030.
The gap grew from 16,500 in 2015 to 26,240 in 2021 to 39,100 now. Demand for STCW certified seafarers rose 35 per cent since 2021. Source: BIMCO and ICS, Seafarer Workforce Report 2026.
60% of their time goes into filling vacancies instead of into their people.
Recruiters at crewing agencies search, call and verify every vacancy again by hand.
Three agencies get called separately for a single open position.
Each searches its own pool in isolation. The operator lines the answers up in an inbox.
Too late is when expiring certificates surface.
Often once travel is already booked. Crew2Sea flags them thirty days ahead, on STCW and MLC.
